The sensor elements of gas detection systems are
unfortunately subject to ageing and consumption which depend very
much on the environmental operating conditions. Regular calibration
and adjustment by means of calibration and test gas is therefore
very important to ensure the excellent function of gas detection
systems.
ExTox recommends for all of her supplied gas
detection systems maintenance intervals including calibration and
adjustment of maximum 6 months. An extension to 12 months might
eventually be possible in case of existing experiences on similar
applications. On principle we recommend moreover the use of modes of
proceeding and maximum calibration intervals as per description in
guides BGI 518 and BGI 836, even if their scope does not cover your
application.
